Bec has been working as a speech pathologist for almost 20 years. Bec’s first job as a new graduate was working with children and adults with complex physical and medical needs, which sparked her interest in supporting clients with complex disabilities. She has worked in community and acute settings in both the private and public sectors in Australia and the United Kingdom, supporting people with developmental and acquired disabilities. Bec is passionate about assisting clients to achieve to their full potential and has a keen interest in assisting people to use assistive technology (including AAC) to reach their goals. Bec’s passion for everyone to have a way to express themselves is evident in her therapy approach and the way that she involves everyone in therapy. Bec is a Talking Mats accredited trainer and Triple P facilitator. Bec is also interested in mealtime management and making mealtimes safe, fun and enjoyable for all involved and uses techniques from SOS to do so. Bec is excited by telepractice, as she has experienced life in a remote location with the struggles to access specialist services, and telepractice really does bring specialist therapy to everyone, in the comfort of their own home!
